Tri-City Cycling is keeping current with all Public Health Orders by the Government of BC.  Please see the attached link for the most current information.

Generally though, you can expect the following protocols for our group rides:

  • All riders MUST pre-register by RSVPing on TeamSnap by 7 pm the previous evening.
  • If you have not RSVP'd, you will not be able to ride with us that day.
  • No drop-in rides. All riders must be registered TCC members so we can have proper contact tracing.
  • All members MUST fill out the mandatory Cycling BC COVID-19 declaration on CCN before taking part in group rides (new members will fill this in as part of their registration process).
  • The group size for each ride is capped at 8 riders (but there can be multiple groups).
  • Our meeting locations are either at the Port Moody Rec Centre (tennis court area) or at Tinhouse Brewing (large parking lot area behind) so we can physically distance before riding.
  • There will not be additional pick-up locations along ride routes (at least for now).
  • Anyone who has experienced flu-like symptoms or returned from abroad within the previous 14 days are expected to not participate in TCC group rides.
  • Practice good hand hygiene by washing/sanitizing hands before group rides.
  • Ride leaders will check in riders. This will aid in contact tracing if required.

Welcome to Tri-City Cycling club

Based in the beautiful Tri-Cities (Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam) in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia we encourage and support members from the community to enjoy an active lifestyle through cycling.

Our mission is to create a healthy, safe, and friendly environment to promote cycling skill development of all members through organized events.

The key to the club's overwhelming success has been our members. We encourage you to join us to enjoy the camaraderie of cycling with others. An opportunity to improve your skills through group rides, and to learn from a wide range of experienced club members.

A Group For You!

With a multi-level club structure, there's a group for everyone - from training aficionados to coffee connoisseurs.

Awesome People

We love to have fun. We have a great time with one another and often stop for a pint at the breweries post-ride. Our club has people of all ages and backgrounds, with one passion - bikes.

Special Events

In addition to regular weekly rides, we host multiple special events through the season. Climbing Baker, team BBQ's and our renowned invitational.

Safety First

Our members are the most important part of our club, to protect them, safety is our number one priority.

Registration for 2022 is open!

Membership runs for the calendar year. Early bird memberships are available for purchase at a discount until the first week in February.

Registration is facilitated through CCN Bikes. You can pay your club membership fee, get your BC Cycling license and sign your liability waiver all at once.

The season begins in April with official club rides, but keep your eye on our Facebook page for impromptu meet-up rides and social events. Once the season begins, club rides are Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm and Sunday mornings at 8:30 am - times may vary throughout the season to accommodate daylight hours.

If you're already a member, login to your TeamSnap account to see this season's special events and ride details posted each week.

Routes vary in distance from 50-150km.

Objectives & Expected Level Of Riding Ability By Group

Group A

This group is for frequent riders who like to ride fast with periods of higher intensity efforts. There are very few regrouping opportunities and if you cannot keep up, you might get left behind.

If you are feeling strong and up for a challenge, this group is for you. We recommend that you start riding with Group B before you try Group A.

Average Speeds on flat roads: 30 to 35 km/h with some faster sections.

Group B

This group is for experienced riders and/or riders who are in good physical shape. We will regroup at the top of every hill and is a no-drop ride.

If you are newer to group riding and cannot hold 30 km/h in a group or 25-27 km/h on your own we recommend you start riding with Group C before you try Group B.

Average Speeds on flat roads: 27 to 30 km/h

Group C

This group is for riders with some experience riding but may not have never ridden in a group before.  This group is a no-drop ride where we support each other for the success of everyone.

These rides often have a very social appeal with a coffee/snack stop somewhere along the route.

Average Speeds on flat roads: 24-27 km/h

Before selecting a group to ride in, it's important to consider that you meet the minimum level of proficiency. All riders should be able to:

  • Feel comfortable riding at an average speed of 23 km/hr, for a minimum of 50km

  • Ride one-handed in order to be able to signal with right/left hand while maintaining control of your bike

  • Ride in a straight line and not deviate while shoulder checking right or left

  • Maintain a steady and even riding pace while drafting behind other riders no more than one bike length behind

  • Ride with clipless pedals and cycling shoes - no riders with pedal cages will be allowed to participate due to safety
  • A reminder that for safety reason the rides will only accommodate road bikes (no triathlon/time-trial bikes).
